No bundled surprises, no vague “call for pricing” on the things that have a fixed rate. Every service below lists what you’ll actually pay. Mobile and out-of-state cards included.
Ink-roll fingerprints are pressed onto standard cardstock and are still what most federal agencies, embassies, and out-of-state licensing boards require in physical form.

An apostille certifies a document’s signature and seal so it’s recognized abroad. Commonly requested alongside an FBI Identity History Summary for international use.

Some agencies require their own card format or channeling process rather than a standard FD-258; these are priced separately because of that extra handling.

The cost of fingerprinting depends on the type of service you need (ink card vs. live scan), the number of cards or sets required, whether mobile service is requested, and any additional services such as background check submission or apostille certification.
Ink fingerprinting is the traditional method where each finger is rolled in ink and pressed onto a physical card (such as an FD-258, SF-87, or FD-1164). Live scan fingerprinting captures prints digitally using an electronic scanner, with results submitted directly to the requesting agency. Some agencies require one method specifically, so it’s important to confirm which format your agency accepts before your appointment.
You should bring a valid, government-issued photo ID such as a driver’s license or passport. If your agency provided you with specific forms, an ORI number, or a fingerprint card to be completed, bring those as well. If you’re unsure what to bring, contact the provider ahead of your appointment to confirm.
Fingerprinting is required for a wide range of purposes, including employment background checks, professional licensing (healthcare, education, finance, and more), immigration and visa applications, adoption proceedings, firearms licensing (ATF/FFL), volunteer clearances, and international document authentication.
An apostille is an official certification that authenticates a document for use in another country. If you need your FBI background check or identity documents recognized internationally, for a visa, foreign employment, or residency application, you may need an apostille attached. This is a separate service from fingerprinting itself.
