Yes. Federal I-9 law (8 CFR 274a.2) allows employers to designate any person as an authorized representative to complete Section 2 on their behalf. The employer remains liable for proper completion, but the physical verification can be performed by our team. PDX Fingerprinting is experienced with I-9 requirements and completes the process accurately every time.
What documents does an employee need for I-9 verification?
Either: one List A document (such as a U.S. passport, permanent resident card, or Employment Authorization Document) proving both identity and work authorization OR one List B document (driver’s license or state ID) plus one List C document (Social Security card or birth certificate). All documents must be originals. Photocopies are not accepted.
How quickly must I-9 verification be completed?

If a document appears expired, altered, or otherwise unacceptable under I-9 rules, our representative will inform the employee and your HR contact immediately. We do not complete Section 2 with non-compliant documents. We guide you through the next steps to remain compliant.
How does PDX Fingerprinting return the completed I-9 to us?
We email the completed, signed Form I-9 (PDF) to your designated HR contact the same day the verification is performed. We can also mail a physical copy if required. You are responsible for retaining the I-9 in your records as required by federal law.
