All registered persons at FINRA member firms are required to be fingerprinted. This includes candidates for Series 6, 7, 24, 63, 65, 66, 79, 99, and all other FINRA-administered licenses. It also applies to supervisory principals and investment adviser representatives.
Is FINRA fingerprinting different from a standard FBI background check?
FINRA fingerprinting uses the same FD-258 ink card format as FBI background checks, but is processed through FINRA’s compliance system (Web CRD) rather than directly with the FBI.
