How Do I Know If My Country Accepts an Apostille?

Countries in the Hague Apostille Convention accept a single apostille certificate on your document. Countries outside the Convention usually require the older legalization process through their embassy or consulate. Two recent changes matter: Vietnam accepts apostilles from September 11, 2026, and Thailand will from February 28, 2027. Some countries, including the United Arab Emirates, do not accept apostilles, so call (503) 212-0678 if yours is not listed.

Countries That Need Legalization (Not in the Hague Convention)

These countries are not part of the Apostille Convention, so your documents need U.S. authentication and embassy legalization instead. PDX Fingerprinting handles both steps.
