Live Scan is a digital method that captures fingerprints electronically and submits them directly to agencies, resulting in faster processing and fewer errors. Ink fingerprinting uses FD-258 cards and is required by agencies that don’t accept digital submission. At PDX Fingerprinting, we provide both options depending on your agency’s requirements.

Fingerprinting is required by multiple agencies including the FBI, FINRA (financial services), FDLE (Florida Department of Law Enforcement), state nursing boards, immigration offices, and licensing boards. PDX Fingerprinting is authorized to handle all of these needs.

At PDX Fingerprinting, the fingerprinting process takes 10–15 minutes, and FBI background check results are usually available within 24–72 hours, depending on submission method.

In most cases, expunged or sealed records do not appear in fingerprint background checks. However, certain federal agencies may still have access to sealed data.

You need to bring a valid government-issued photo ID (driver’s license or passport) and any forms or instructions provided by the requesting agency. PDX Fingerprinting supplies FD-258 cards if needed.

Yes, fingerprints can be rejected if they’re smudged, unclear, or of poor quality. At PDX Fingerprinting, our trained technicians help reduce errors, and if rejection occurs, we re-roll your fingerprints at no extra charge.
